With plans already in place to hold a face-to-face conference in early 2020 thrown out by the arrival of a global pandemic, the organising team in Australia had to quickly think about developing a online/virtual conference. Thus, ICCP2020 became the first online/virtual conference hosted by Melbourne, Australia.

Despite the challenges faced in turning things around in such a short period of time, the online format provided some unique opportunities for people to showcase work and ideas from all corners of the world, and for people to reconnect during a time when the global pandemic was isolating many people.

To test the online waters two pre-conference webinars and were a great success (you can watch them here) which encouraged the organising team to progress with the conference to be held in November 2020. The format for the conference was to have both live elements (roundtables, symposia, plenaries, workshops) and pre-recorded submissions (individual papers, ignite presentations, creative, and posters).
